This is always a HIT with guests. I make this everytime we have a get together and the bowl is always left empty!!
Double Tomato Bruschetta

Duck with Blackberry Sauce
blackberries, blackberries, butter, beef broth, chicken broth, cognac, orange juice, maple syrup, vinegar, sugar, duck breast, white wine
Here's a great main course from the Post Hotel at Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. If you can't find boneless duck breasts, buy two whole ducks, and...
Prep time includes marinating time.
Homemade Drain Cleaner and Declogger
For those of you who hate poison-type drain cleaners, use white vinegar and baking soda. This will clean and unclog a drain. Also drops of white vinegar in your pet's water will keep away fleas and ticks!
Hot German Potato Salad
This was passed down from my Great-Great-Grand Mother who came from Germany in the 1800's.
Most Incredible No Fail Pie Crust
This is absolutely the best pie crust I have ever used. It never fails me and always comes out flaky and perfect. This recipe is enough for 2 - 9" crusts.
Poor Man's Caviar
"A colorful, light, and delicious concoction to serve with tortilla chips or pita bread. Avocados, tomatoes, green onions, black beans, and Mexicorn are combined with red wine vinegar, canola oil, and hot pepper sauce. Always a crowd pleaser! Serve with tortilla chips or pita bread."
Rhubarb Cake I

Spinach Salad with Honey Bacon Dressing
bacon, mushroom, spinach, green onion, eggs, honey, lemon juice, parmesan cheese, tomato, vegetable oil, vinegar, mustard
The best spinach salad I've ever had. Every time I serve this to guests, I get requests for the recipe. I found this in Taste of Home Soups, Salads and Sandwiches.
Spinach Strawberry Salad
Spinach and strawberries what an odd combination for a recipe. That is what I thought before trying this the first time. Now I get many requests to bring this for dinner parties. The raspberry wine vinegar adds a marvelous taste, and compliments the first two ingredients. This salad is very eye pleasing in crystal.
Strawberry and Feta Salad
balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, dijon mustard, feta cheese, garlic, honey, strawberries, vinegar, romaine lettuce, almonds, vegetable oil
"This unusual combination of strawberries, feta cheese, toasted almonds and romaine lettuce in a sweet and tangy dressing is sure to please your guests. A guaranteed pleaser for any potluck or BBQ meal!!!"
Substitute for Buttermilk
I always seem to not have buttermilk on hand when I need it. I've used the powdered milk and vinegar version of this which works well, but today I didn't have any powdered milk! This substitution that I found on the internet works just as well.
Sweet, Creamy Coleslaw
I never liked coleslaw until I tried my husband's great aunt's. Now I can't get enough of it! Great with BBQ pork sandwiches. You can also use a bag of slaw mix instead of shredding the cabbage and carrots yourself.
I haven't purchased tartar sauce in many years. We do not like any hint of sweetness, preferring the combination of dill pickle, lemon, onion and Worcestershire to flavor the sauce. This will keep a long time in the refrigerator.Note to World Tour participants - this recipe is included in the British category. Similar sauce recipes (making the mayonnaise from scratch, of course) go back to Medieval times, and have been found in British books as early as 1685. It's also wonderful served with fish and chips, if you aren't very fond of malt vinegar.
Very Moist Banana Nut Bread
This is a very easy, "no mixer" bread to make. It is very moist and a little heavy type banana bread. The really important thing to remember is using all black bananas to get my same results. I always use 5 medium sized bananas and this recipe makes 2 loaves. Also, I've never used buttermilk, but sour milk instead..a little vinegar added to regular milk. I've used this recipe since 1972 and last year made 32 loaves to give away for Christmas! It's truly a wonderful bread. I only bake it until the toothpick comes out almost clean, as we like it really moist. If you over bake it, or wait til the toothpick is completely clean, the bread will be a lot dryer. I realize some like it this way, so thats why I've given this hint. My family and friends would rather have it a little under done than over. It's so good with coffee, butter/jelly or I like mine just plain. I bake it in tin foil pans and it freezes wonderfully. I try to always have one or two in the freezer for company, or a little gift. This recipe came from a ladies club cookbook. The kind where everyone contributes recipes, they are made into a recipe book and sold to make money for charities. All the cooks are just plain "down home" country gals that produce miracles in the kitchen. It's my favorite cookbook and I've almost worn it out and it can't be replaced. I know there are many banana bread recipes here, so thanks for trying this recipe. I hope you enjoy it!
salt, cumin, garlic, green pepper, jalapeno, onions, black pepper, sugar, tomato paste, tomato sauce, tomato, vinegar
This is the best salsa recipe I've found so far and I've tried about a dozen. I got it from one of the local hospital cookbooks that are sold in my area. I changed it a bit and have been canning it for years. The reason I plant a garden is for this salsa. We would be lost without it. Hope you like it as much as we do.
